Overview
Kashu verifies identity through CLEAR, our biometric verification partner, to meet U.S. financial regulations (KYC/AML) and prevent fraud. You must complete this before you can fully use Kashu Wallet, including funding your account, connecting payment methods, or transferring funds.
Step-by-step
Start verification. Open your account and select Verify with CLEAR.
Enter your phone number. Supply your mobile number and enter the one-time passcode.
Continue on your phone. Scan the QR code with your phone's camera, or request a secure text link.
Upload your documents. Submit a valid government-issued ID (driver's license, state ID, or passport) and provide your SSN. ITINs are not currently accepted.
Complete the biometric check. Take a live selfie in a bright area to confirm your identity.
Confirmation. Most verifications finish within minutes, and you get an approval notification.
Best practices
Use clear lighting for your selfie.
Spell your personal information exactly as it appears on your ID.
If you already have a CLEAR account, use those credentials.
Eligibility
Allowed: U.S. residents 18 or older with a valid SSN and a matching government-issued ID.
Prohibited: using someone else's documents, or submitting an expired or altered ID.
