Visa — Network Guidelines

Updated over a week ago

Summary
Visa is not a bank but a global payment network. It partners with banks (like Chase, Citi, Bank of America) to issue credit cards. Visa sets network rules, including restrictions on certain purchase types, while banks decide how strictly to enforce them.

Best Practices

  • Visa transactions must code under eligible merchant categories. Kashu ensures purchases process as standard card transactions.

  • Banks may still flag sudden high utilization or unusual activity — follow your issuer’s guidelines in addition to Visa’s.

  • If a Visa transaction is declined, contact your issuing bank (not Visa directly).

Terms & Contact

  • Visa does not provide direct cardholder servicing. For card support, call the phone number on the back of your card or your bank’s customer service line.

Notes
Visa rules apply across all issuers. Kashu transactions are structured to comply with Visa’s network standards.
